I Am A Gun Owner, And Here Are 8 Things I Have To Say About Gun Control

Now, I do realize that there are many different viewpoints among gun owners. Some of my own views are not very popular with a lot of people. This piece contains so many anti-gun view points that I have to wonder if it is a fake article. After listing the types of firearms she owns she boldly states, “I also support every single gun control measure out there.”.  That does not sound like a statement one would hear from a pro-gun person.

The first point she brings up is private sales. Well, “illegal cash sales” are what she calls them. She talks about witnessing these illegal transactions at gun shows in the parking lot. Stating that they are illegal in many states. Based upon a quick internet search less than half of the States have a ban on private sales. Even less have an outright ban, some just have light restrictions. She states she is from the South and from what I can tell most all Southern States allow private sales.

Then she goes off on a rant about unsafe actions witnessed at the range and in general. I can’t completely disagree with her on this one. I’ve seen people do some pretty dumb stuff. I’ve had conversations with people on why it’s not okay to point guns at other people even when they are unloaded (happens all the time at gun stores and shows). While these unsafe actions do happen to often they are not the rule. Any unsafe action witnessed should be addressed if you are able to do so. If you witness something dangerous at the range and you are not comfortable speaking to the person about it then notify a range officer immediately.

The next few points are really just her saying how much better she is than everyone else and how no one can be trusted to handle a firearm responsibly. So I will jump ahead to point number 7. “The NRA is a terrorist organization.”.

Now that is a pretty bold and obviously false statement to make. Her only example used to back up this ridiculous statement is that their advertisements are filled with fear mongering about people coming to take our guns. She claims that there is zero evidence to support that this is never going to happen. Which is ironic because in her next point she denounces the use of assault-style weapons (referring to AR-15 and AK-47 rifles) and states that “Assault-style weapons should never be in the hands of civilians. Period.”. Seems pretty clear to me that she is advocating the ban and confiscation of such items.

She then goes on to champion groups such as Moms Demand Action, The Brady Campaign and Everytown for Gun Safety. More and more I hear the words, I support the 2nd Amendment but…..
