A Texas college campus is locked in a fierce debate after a group of students launched the "smut for smut" campaign, trading bibles and other religious texts for porn, MyFoxSanAntonio.com reported.

Atheist students at the University of Texas at San Antonio announced that any student over the age of 18 will receive pornographic materials if they trade in religious materials, according to MyFoxSanAntonio.com.

Leaders of this atheist campaign allege that porn is no worse than what's written in religious texts.

A university spokesman says that this controversial cause is completely legal, though he admits a majority of the students on campus do not agree with it, according to MyFoxSanAntonio.com.

The group will continue its activities on campus through the middle of the week, according to the site.

The end must really, really be near.

Wow! I wonder the outcome if the situation was reversed? Say a Christian group wanted to pass out Bibles to those who turned over their porn. I'm betting the institution wouldn't be so tolerant.

I don't understand their interpretation of the Bible as being pornographic unless they merely want to step on toes by calling the Bible smut.

There is a racy Old Testament book called Song of Solomon. In older times, the religious authority tried to prevent anyone under the age of around 30 to read it because of its heated topics on sex. You can take a few verses out of Biblical context to make them sound dirty... Ezekiel 23:20 comes to mind.

Of course, that is ignoring the context of them.

http://www.xxxchurch.com might chime in and speak up about it. They are a ministry that helps porn stars get out of the industry, helps people with sexual addiction and they do so with love.

I'm sure they think that what they are doing is honorable or combating untruth.

I doubt that they think that what they are doing is honorable.

Bertrand Russell, Richard Dawkins and others all try to build a case that to be free is to remove the shackles of religion. To help others to the same, is the equivalent of the Christian's desire to convert others to their religion. Their thinking is that if others subscribe to their version of truth, a world without God, then they think their defense of truth is honorable.

I don't agree with their line of thinking but I can see where they are coming from if they truly believe the Bible is a lie.

Of course, they could be lying to themselves and just hate Judeo-Christian religion and are using the above for an excuse. God knows their hearts. If they are really looking for truth, they will find it. God honors and respects our wishes when it comes to seeking truth... even if people hate him at first because of the truth they find.

"I have come to kill Indians
and believe it is right and honorable
to use any means under God's heaven
to kill Indians."
John M. Chivington
U.S. Army Colonel and man of God

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my country.
but i compare it to Loving a woman that's cheating on you, abusing your kids and lying to you while stealing your money. You still love her, even knowing the truth.

During the California Gold rush, The department of Indian affairs paid $5 for the head of an Indian.
even the ones that weren't committing crimes.

Quote:An estimated 100,000 California Indians died between 1848 and 1868 as a result of American immigration.

http://mtwsfh.blogspot.com/2008/01/1860-colombia.html
Quote:1864: UNITED STATES. Eight hundred U.S. Army troops commanded by ex-Methodist minister Colonel John M. Chivington, who is apparently an avid reader of the Rocky Mountain News, attack a band of unarmed Cheyenne on Sand Creek in the Colorado Territory recently stolen by the U.S. from Mexico.
The Cheyenne had previously surrendered their weapons at Fort Lyon. In conducting their jihad, the soldiers slaughter the defenseless one hundred and fifty men, women and children. In accordance with Colonel Chivington's orders to "kill and scalp all, big and little," many of the victims are mutilated. Clusters of women are shot trying to surrender. Heroic soldiers cut the vaginas from the corpses of Indian women and hack their unborn children from their bodies. Children are shot and clubbed to death. Chivington and his men will later display their victims' scalps and other body parts in the Apollo Theater and in various saloons in Denver. According to later Congressional testimony, Indian leader White Antelope's scrotum was cut off, later to be used as a tobacco pouch

When other countries do this we call it genocide or ethnic cleansing and invade.

So speaking for the people of my Tribes (Yurok and Choctaw), and accepting all aspects of my ancestry...

Yes, Really.

There never was a bad man that had ability for good service.

Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

No, not really. Christianity didn't kill Indians, people killed Indians. A lot of people, even today, pervert religion to fit their world view or agenda.

I would not trust a person that said they only use their bible to look at the pictures.
