Denver Carry Rules
#1
I read some of the laws concerning concealed and open carry in Denver and Denver County but it's still confusing. In ten words or fewer, will someone address concealed carry, open carry and firearms in your vehicle? I've heard you cannot have a firearm in the trunk.

Concealed Carry: With a valid permit
Open Carry: Not gonna happen unless you're an on-duty cop
Car Carry: with a permit is fine. Without a permit (and visible), probably best to make sure you don't stop

The way I understand the ruling on car carry is that Denver can not restrict carry in your vehicle, open or concealed. IANAL.

That is technically true (and points out a section I forgot to add). Technically, carry in your car is allowed. I was making the point that if you were stopped, or it was seen by accident, expect to deal with a ton of police harassment about it.

Frankly, Denver and my school are the two primary reasons I have a CHP at all.

I'm sure my time is coming but I used to ride around Denver on my motorcycle often while open carrying in a thigh holster. No problems yet.

Yet. But I doubt you'd win a case, given the current political climate about gun carriers in Denver.

Maybe I'll find out this summer.
