The Bump-Stock ban in Denver has gone into effect.

Another useless piece of legislation has gone into effect. The ban on these stocks will have absolutely zero impact on crime. ZERO! This is a knee jerk reaction to a tragic event.

A bump stock is a device that allows the user to fire at an increased rate. How fast the rate of fire is depends on how practiced the person using it is. That said, a person can fire a semi-auto rifle without a bump stock as fast as they can with a bump stock. There are various ways this can be done. Some of them require the use of foreign objects. And with a little practice  person can bump fire with no aid from another object. Watch the video for an example.

But wait, you can’t do that from the shoulder, can you?

Then there is the fact that Denver already has a ban on the so called “assault weapons” that can make use of bump stocks. So what is the point in banning something that can’t be used because the thing it can be used on is already banned?
